I turn to you all because it seems there are a billion reasons it could be slow, and I've yet to strike gold. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? Why isn't it giving me the lightning speed it's promising? But this PC, by every standard, should be better, faster, stronger than my last computer, but working in 3ds Max is unbearable. I'm not entirely well-versed in PC hardware and the nitty-gritty. And I've tested very simple scenes compared to complex ones, and it hardly seems to matter. I work remotely for a new job, and they shipped me a thoroughbred of a PC:ĪPEXX T3 AMD Threadripper 3990X 64-Core | 2.90 GHz 64 GB RAM Max installed on a 500GB SSD 3ds Max 2020 (we can't upgrade to 2022 yet, red tape) NVIDIA 461.92 Updated all the drivers I can/found.īUT, 3ds Max is atrocious with opening files, importing scenes/models, running scripts (Copitor takes ages), even just saving a file. I'm really hoping someone can help me, i'm a bit at my wit's end.
